Do you LOVE candy, but hate not knowing what’s in there?
Are you curious about how delicious, creamy fillings get stuffed inside of perfectly crunchy chocolate?
Do you love giving homemade gifts to friends and family members?
What if there were a way to create delicious sweet treats at home without all the preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, chemical stabilizers and other stuff you don’t want?
For over 15 years, Lisa has been making candy in her home kitchen and giving homemade treats to her friends and family for holidays, birthdays, and more. Her specialties include herb/spice infused truffles, sea-salt and lime caramels, “milky-way” bars, “mounds” bars, cherry cordials, fudge, fruit jellies, and more.
For the first time EVER, Lisa will open up her home and share her recipes and candy-making techniques in this special two day hands-on class.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
Day 1 we’ll be making middles. You’ll learn how to make ganache truffles including how to infuse cream with various spices to flavor the chocolate. We’ll also make sea-salt and lime caramels, fruit jellies, and either nougat, fondant, or a coconut-cream mounds-like filling. You’ll learn simple tricks for making “perfect” caramel, how different types of sugar have different effects on the finished product, and more.
Day 2 we’ll be dipping and decorating. You’ll learn about tempering chocolate – why it’s relevant and how to do it. We’ll also play with decorating our finished candies using techniques such as texture sheets and transfer sheets to add color and texture to our confections.
You’ll leave with a list of supplies to make your own candies at home and a box of treats for you or your valentine.
Cost for this two day class is $135 which includes all the supplies and some light snacks.
This class is limited to 6 people to allow for everyone to have hands-on experience and one-on-one attention, and advance registration is REQUIRED.
*****Please note that there is a friendly indoor/outdoor cat at the class location, and both nuts and gluten are used in this kitchen. The class link below only shows the first day of the class, but rest assured that you are registering for the entire class (both days) when you sign up through this link!*****
